Mapping the Future

Although I haven’t spoken publicly about it yet, in the near-future I will be hosting my own booth at an upcoming convention. There’s not a lot I can say about it at the moment, but it’s going to be one of the biggest days of my life. I can’t wait. I really can’t. Months still bridge the gap between now and the grand day, but preparations are already underway!

In order to make the loudest noise I can and be heard over the sweltering soup, I will be releasing physical editions of every Mirage story for a scintillating value that is almost guaranteed to turn heads. I’ve never endeavoured to make a slick profit, and I will continue to practice this ideology for as long as I am able. I can’t confirm the prices yet, but I know it won’t disappoint anyone.

To add further value to these physical editions, I will be including a range of appendices that will touch upon the world of Mirage in new and exciting ways. Not only will readers of the physical editions understand a bit more of the larger picture, there will be a wealth of new content, such as a succinct timeline of events, revelatory narratives that just might tie off a few loose ends, and a handy map for each individual story.

Tonight I spent several hours drafting the geography of the Western Borderlands, where the recent short story, The Voice of the Wild, took place. It’s such a thrilling and peculiarly endearing experience to sketch in some of the blank spaces and see what the characters are seeing—and even what they’re not seeing.

Aren’t maps just the coolest?

The Voice of the Wild Will Be Heard Soon!

At long last, The Voice of the Wild, the next story set in the Mirage Universe, is finished! This was due to be completed almost a year ago, but due to Pop’s rapid decline, and a few other personal reasons, it got put on the backburner. Until now!

The Voice of the Wild (Final Edit)

After such a long time away from this story, it came as a surprise to read it with fresh eyes. It both shocked me and filled me with awe. There’s some really powerful stuff going on in this one, and I hope you’re all going to be able to read it. While certainly gratuitous at times, it is never without cause. Violence must always carry some thematic resonance, and I believe this story knocks it right out of the park.

Remember, as with all of my publications from http://miragestories.com, The Voice of the Wild will be FREE! It clocks in at only 9,600 words, so it’s a nice, easy read. Great for an evening adventure with a glass of wine and cheese.

Stay tuned for more details soon.
